Trail Volunteers

Volunteers are one of the reason trails in New Hampshire are here.  Without the thousands of hours of volunteer time that individuals and organizations give to develop and work on trails, these treasures would suffer along with the outdoor experience all trails users currently enjoy.

Volunteers approach and secure permission from private and public landowners for public trails.  They lay out the proposed trails, clear them, construct them, and maintain them.

No matter where you go to hike, bike, ride horses, snowmobiles, ATVs, or trailbikes, odds are that the reason that trail exists is because someone gave up their incredibly valuable free time to make it happen.  The future of New Hampshire trails is still, and forever will be, dependent upon the volunteer efforts of local individuals and organizations.

If you truly enjoy and value your trail time, look for ways to make a positive difference.  Join a club.  Volunteer in your area.  If you don’t, who will?  For a list of clubs and organizations that spend countless hours volunteering to make New Hampshire trails better, click here:
